We all know that the hot melt adhesive market has been growing steadily during the last years. Customers requirements have been more and more difficult to meet as far as quality and performances are concerned. For these reasons we have been looking for a new development technology which should assure us a faster return on R. & D. investments. Our efforts have resulted in a global methodology based on methods and processes which have been made available to adhesive formulators, and particularly:

-Functional specifications,

-Modelization and Optimiztion Software,

-Statistical Process Control.

Application examples of this new approach to the packaging industry and to the non-woven disposables will be used to present the various tools used in our methodology.
