Styrene-Isoprene Block Copolymers for Diapers Hot Melt Adhesives, 1994 Hot Melt Symposium Proceedings
S. Giordano, L. V. Sacconi, C. Parodi, A. Riva
1. Description of five Styrene/Isoprene linear triblock copolymers with different styrene content (15-35% respectively).
2. Chemical-physical characterization of the polymers with particular interest to dynamic-mechanical behavior.
3. Hot-melt formulations for end-use diapers, based on the mentioned copolymers, different commercial tackifying resins and plasticizing oil.
4. Characterization via dynamic-mechanical analysis of the obtained formulations and correlation to the adhesive performances measured with traditional testing methods (180o peel adhesion, Polyken tack, SAFT, holding power, etc).
5. Correlation among adhesive technological properties and:
a) – styrene content of the block copolymers in formulations containing same tackifying resin and plasticizing oil.
b) – different grades of resins and plasticizing oils in formulations containing same linear SIS copolymer.
