High Performance Hot Melts for the Bonding of Polar and Non-Polar Substances, 1996 Hot Melt Symposium Proceedings

The bending of polar and non-polar substrates will be discussed in this paper. Part One will present polyamide based polymer blends to achieve this goal. As an example, new high performance hot melts for the cable industry have been chosen. The continuous change in the requirements of this industry towards non-polar substrates was the start for this development. In Part Two, new products based on polypropylene will be introduced, which have good adhesion properties and an excellent temperature profile. This two-way approach resulted in a new series of products, which are able to bond difficult substrates for a lot of different applications.
