Hot Melts and Sealants Based on Silane Modified Vestoplast, 1997 Hot Melt Symposium Proceedings
Amorphous poly-a-olefins are used in a large variety of applications ranging from the hygiene and packaging sectors to the structural bonding and wood processing field. However. sometimes. it is difficult to achieve the desired adhesion on polar substrates using APAO-formulations. Silane-modified VESTOPLAST-grades from Hüls now offer solutions to these bonding problems. These reactive hot melt raw materials are moisture curing and produce excellent adhesion to glass, ceramics, metal and wood. These grades have utility in the automotive, construction, and woodworking industries. The structure and mode of action of silane-modified APAO are discussed. The primary emphasis will be the various applications for this new raw material.
