Improving Adhesion of High Vinyl (SVS) Polymers Using Modified Diblocks, 1997 Hot Melt Symposium Proceedings

The molecular weight and the functionality of an S/B diblock were shown to be important for the diblock’s ability to improve adhesion properties of a high vinyl styrene/butadiene TPE. Diblocks terminated with various functional groups were studied in blends with a high vinyl triblock polymer. In addition to the different polar end-groups, the molecular weights of the diblocks were varied. Both “true block” and “tapered block” structures were evaluated.
