Hydroxy Modified Diblock Additives to High Vinyl TPE for Adhesives, 1998 Hot Melt Symposium Proceedings

Styrene-butadiene diblock polymers have proved beneficial to adhesive properties of styrene-butadiene TPE’s. Having looked especially promising in previous work, a series of hydroxy terminated diblocks were made and blended with three different TPE’s. Molecular weight, vinyl content and secondary versus primary hydroxy end groups were the variables under study. The primary result confirmed the beneficial results of using diblocks, and furthermore showed that the various applications are optimized by different diblock polymers.
