Recovery Modernization at Stora Cell Skutskar Experience With New Technology, 1998 International Chemical Recovery Conference Proceedings

Stora Cell’s Skutskär mill has increased production and reduced effluent by some major changes in the recovery system. In order to make these changes some new, cost effective technology has been implemented. A vertical air system in recovery boiler 7, burning of NCGs (LVHC) in recovery boiler 6 and a new evaporator line with an integrated stripper are examples of equipment that has been installed. These, along with other modifications, have increased the mills capacity by 25% and reduced the COD in the effluent by 20%.
