A deink plant is a complex system of unit operations that processes waste paper. Production and quality from the plant can be optimized by careful examination of the following key factors during the planning and design stages of the project.
- An understanding of composition of the waste paper to be processed and it’s contaminants to be removed.
- Definition of realistic quality specifications for the deinked stock.
- Understanding of critical variables in chemicals, heat and water.
- Capabilities for elimination of special cause variations and minimizing common cause variations.
- Optimizing opportunities for handling and disposal of the several different waste streams.
- Traffic pattern design for delivery of consumables.
- In an integrated deinking plant, modifications necessary on the paper machine and stock delivery system to accommodate deinked stock.
