Two-Stage Oxygen Delignification Process and Recent Experiences, 1996 International Pulp Bleaching Conference Proceedings
This article discusses mill experiences gained from two-stage oxygen delignification in brownstock treatment and bleaching in integrated oxygen delignification. It also provides alternatives for connecting the oxygen stage, screening and washing. With two-stage oxygen delignification, a delignification degree of 55-60% and over is achieved for softwood, and for hardwood approx. 45% in a normal mill run while maintaining the physical characteristics of the pulp. In the oxygen stage after the A or D stage, a kappa reduction higher than these values is achieved. Two-stage oxygen delignification, in particular, reduces the reject content considerably. The coupling of screening after the oxygen stage and the return of the reject to the oxygen stage, offer an attractive opportunity for reject treatment...
