The Gruvön Pulp and Paper Mill is located on the large Lake Vänern in Central Sweden. The annual output is 600 000 tons of paper and market pulp produced in three digester lines, two ECF bleach plants, six paper machines and two flash driers. The mill has secondary treatment. Green liquor filtration, MC oxygen deliguification and ITC Tm cooking have been introduced in recent years. A pilot plant evaporator for bleach plant effluent is being operated. Since 1985 the total specific COD emission has been reduced from 74 to 26 kg per ADMT.
