Extended Treatment of Secondary Condensates fron the Sulphate Process by Vapor Stripping, 1996 Minimum Effluent Mills Symposium Proceedings

H. Mattsson

Ablstrom Machinery AB

The process advantages that can be achieved with the installation of an additional condensate stripping system are evidenced by the reduced amount of methanol in the secondary condensates. The optimal connection of such a stripping system in the evaporation plant is discussed. The relation between destillable volatile and non-volatile contaminants as well as the selection of the purification process is discussed.
