Japanese Multi-Ply Forming Equipment, 1998 Multi-Ply Forming Forum Proceedings

Since the 1950’s the Japanese pulp and paper industry has grown phenomenally so that today its output of paper and paperboard grades is in the order of 30 million tonnes per annum and is still growing. Consumption of paper and paperboard per capita is in excess of 250kg. Quality demanded of Japanese products is of a high order and this, coupled with the requirement of high outputs, indicates a high degree of technical competence.

Associated with this phenomenal growth in the paper manufacturing sector has been a corresponding growth in the supply sector (machinery manufacturers etc.).
