Pressure Forming Developments, 1998 Multi-Ply Forming Forum Proceedings
The evolution of the pressure former (or short former), from the more traditional methods of underfelt forming in multiply board grades is highlighted, along with the design principles of a successful type of pressure former. The continued development of rotary pressure formers is presented, including a unit capable of producing quality products at speeds up to 300 m/min. The development of pressure forming technology for high speed and high basis weight application is described.
