Three potential sources of nonwood fibers for paper production are considered: crop residues from point source processing centers, food crop residues, and crops grown for their fiber alone. Use of any of these fiber sources will depend on cost, availability, and suitability. Very approximate estimates of the quantity for each of these sources are presented along with data on cellulose and lipnin content and fiber lenrrth and width.
