High Performance Polyethylene Fiber in Nonwoven Fabrics, 1990 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings
High performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibers because of their extraordinary physical properties are finding increased use in many textile applications. Nonwoven fabrics from HPPE staple fiber can be manufactured from a carded web using the needle punching process. Initial investigations of these nonwoven fabrics have produced encouraging results in a variety of products such as protective clothing, composites, and filtration.
