Basic Baghouse Filtration, 1991 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings

In the course of this paper, I will attempt to impart a basic understanding of the workings of a baghouse, or fabric filter collector. We will touch on areas such as: baghouse construction, design, cleaning methods, fibers, and fabrics. Each of these areas can merit a full day’s discussion, so we will touch on them all only briefly. The importance of fabric filters as they relate to the protection of our environment and in making various chemical processing industries more efficient will also be seen. This basic overview of the description and workings of a baghouse will hopefully initiate an interest for further study.
