Evolution and Development of Headbox Systems for Specialty Nonwoven Formers, 1991 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings

In order to fully appreciate and better understand the evolution and development of the design of these headbox systems we should first discuss the process functions of the headbox system. In this way we can see the effect on the process, and ultimately on the product properties, of the design of the headbox system. We will then examine some of the history and steps in the evolution and development of todays headbox systems, as used on specialty nonwoven formers. The last topic I will discuss is the basic headbox system designs recommended for todays nonwoven formers and the fundamental principles of these designs.
