Improving Water Quality with Flotation/Filtration, 1991 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings
Water quality can usually influence the quality of products produced in a wetlaid nonwovens process. The major problems are operation of water showers and deposition of the product.
A brief description is given of typical contaminants in fresh or recycled water supplies. Treatment results with flocculation, and filtration are described. A new treatment device is introduced which combines the flocculation, flotation, and filtering stages in one tank. Operation and advantages are described for several examples of surface fresh water treatment and process water recycling.
