Review of Significant Nonwoven Patents, 1993 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings
Albert G. Hoyle
Opening remarks will discuss how the reviewing of current patents in the field can be a valuable resource to those involved in R&D, Manufacturing, or Marketing of Nonwovens.
The three main areas of interest in the issuing of patents - end-use products, processing, and raw materials - will be discussed and each of these broken down into the most timely areas of activity in the past three years.
Typical patents will be selected from such areas as fibers, formation, and bonding processes, and end-uses such as filtration, health-care, electrical and thermal insulation, and automotive. These will be discussed in some detail.
Methods of reading a patent to get the most out of it will also be
discussed.
