Air Filtration Efficiency Testing Using ASTM F 1215, 1993 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings
Wayne T. Davis
The primary purposes of this paper are to review the purpose of the ASTM F 1215 Standard Method, and illustrate the utility of the method for determining the efficiency of nonwoven materials as a function of particle size and as a function of velocity. The paper also demonstrates the use of inexpensive pc compatible multichannel analyzer cards/software which can be used to enhance the utility of the method. These boards which can be installed in a standard pc also provide the ability to simultaneously determine the filtration efficiency at multiple monodispersed particle sixes.
