Advanced Filter Test Methods - Utilizing the Multipass Test, 1993 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings

John G. Eleftherakis, Abrahim Khalil

This paper addresses the understanding of Multipass filter (or media) test results. A thorough explanation is given of the test approach and equipment requirements.

Emphasis is placed upon the finer points of issues that effect multipass filter test results, such as, equipment qualification, consistency of upstream contaminant level, the difference in results between fine and coarse media, the use of anti-static additive, the difference between in-line and bottle fluid sampling for particle counts, and overall particle counting requirements. Specific results are discussed and reviewed.
