New Acrylic Chemistries - Formaldehyde Free Binders and High Temperature Non-Yellowing Binders, 1993 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings

Theodore A. Del Donno

This paper will present a discussion

of the chemistry, design and performance of two new classes of acrylic emulsions. The first involves a discussion of our new formaldehyde free emulsions that provide nonwoven binding and impregnation with the requisite wash and dry clean fastness without any

formaldehyde generating species.

The second topic involves a discussion of a family of acrylics that go beyond the traditional non-yellowing behavior of acrylics to provide good performance at much higher temperatures.
