Nonwoven webs are widely used a filters and the quantity is rapidly increasing every year. Charging on the nonwoven webs can greatly improve their filtration efficiency. This paper describes the mechanism for corona charging of nonwoven webs. Different charging techniques to make nonwoven electrets are also discussed.
