Uniquenesses in Foam Application, 1992 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings
When the water phase of a liquor is mechanically expanded by the introduction of a gas (commonly air), foam is generated. First we concentrated on eliminating foam from treating and application baths because air entrapments introduced problems related to uniformity of treatment of substrates. Now, we are saying that foam is a viable medium to be used advantageously in chemical application specifically to fibrous substrates.
