Two classes of chemicals are generally required in the whitewater for the wet lay process. One is a fiber dispersant, the other a formation aid or viscosity modifier. The paper discusses the role each chemical has in the process. Laboratory techniques for product selection are also covered. Finally, some practical application techniques are presented.
