Wire Mesh Belts In Relation To Mat Machines, 1995 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings

A critical part in any manufacturing process is the conveying of the product from start to finish. For producers of fiber-glass mat it is even more critical because the product is not only being conveyed, it is being formed and dried during this conveying process. Since heat is used to dry the product, some sort of metal con-veyor belt has to be used. Whether this is mesh conveyor belt or a fourdrinier belt, many of the same principles will apply. We’ve found that more than half of all conveyors using metal belts are not in alignment. This leads to poor tracking and reduced life on the belt itself and other components of the unit. By utilizing a simple alignment and pre-tracking proce-dure, costs can be cut and production can be maximized.
