The selection of a CALENDER for a particular NONWOVEN web requires the consideration of many options. A nonwovens producer must first specify or determine 1) fiber and web characteristics, 2) the objective for calendering, 3) value added by calendering, 4) compatibility of Calender with user facilities. After establishing these requirements, the buyer must then select the required Calender from the menus of 1) the type of Calender 2) the type of rolls 3) special features. While some Calender designs offer more versatility than others, no one design satisfies all Nonwoven producer’s requirements for a Calender.
