Unbleached cotton may prove to be a valuable raw material for spunlace products. Hydroentangling preserves the valuable attributes of cotton, while this raw material is lower in cost than bleached cotton. This study focuses on characterizing physical property responses to the total specific energy used in hydroentangling unbleached cotton. The fabrics made are very strong and have excellent tear resistance. Weight loss on treatment was studied and found to be minimal.
