This paper describes a simple test for the dispersion of wet chop glass fibers in water. The test consists of dispersing 0.2 grams of fiber in 1500 ml of water, filtering the solution through a forming wire and observing the fibers. The test is useful for screening dispersants and viscosity modifiers. Six different fibers from three different manufactures have been tested and all have different viscosity and dispersant requirements to obtain complete dispersion.
