High Quality Needlepuched Semiconductor Polishing Felts: Increasing Yields While Improving Quality, 1997 Nonwovens Conference Proceedings
Semiconductor manufacturers, in an increasingly competitive and volatile industry, demand ever higher quality from their vendors, After years of outsourcing felt, Rode1 in 1990 initiated in-house manufacture of a high-purity needIepunched polyester material. A cross-functional team of employees was formed to address the need for higher throughput and quality in the face of expected demand by modifying or adding to the existing production capacity. Exploring their options, the team would have to take into account the downstream process effects that modifications might cause. While additional capital equipment will ultimately be added, the team implemented a plan to maximize productivity of existing resources.
