Melt blowing (MB) is a one-step nonwoven process to make fabrics of ultra-fine fibers. The extruded fibers are attenuated by two hot air streams at subsonic velocity near the die exit. Some critical web defects such as shot, roping, web uniformity and fiber size distribution are formed by the interference of the high air speed. These defects consequently affect the web performance including physical and mechanical properties.
