Preparing a Distributed Control System Specification, 1993 Process Control, Electrical & Information Conference Proceedings
Most Process and Pulp and Paper Plants are now controlled by Distributed Control Systems. Each system is tailored to fit the individual needs of the clients for the processes they want to control. Some factors include inputs and outputs, workstations, communications, interfaces to existing equipment, networks, and existing computers. This paper will define the steps for preparing specifications for the purposes of bidding, awarding, installing, and integrating the Distributed Control System into an overall CIM framework for world-class manufacturing.
