Procedures for Successful Process Control Projects, 1997 Process Control, Electrical & Info. Conference Proceedings
The complexity of a major control project presents a need for a procedure to apply to implementation of process control projects that is both definitive and readily applicable. This paper presents a procedure for defining what must be accomplished on a project and establishing the best sequence of events to reach the project goals. This procedure breaks the project into sequential phases that have inputs, activities and outputs for each phase. By following this procedure, it becomes clear what inputs are needed on a controls project , the sequence of activities and the outputs that are expected at each phase of a project. This disciplined approach has proven very successful on large capital projects.
