Extrusion Coating Technology: Resin Coated Papers for Ink Jet Applications, 2002 PLACE Conference Proceedings

This paper will review and discuss in detail the requirements for manufacturing photographic quality ink jet papers for use in professional and desktop applications. Specifically, base paper, resin, and color concentrate requirements as well as process conditions and machine design considerations will be reviewed. Manufacturing considerations to produce such products competitively will be discussed, as well as the current general business climate for high quality, resin-coated ink jet papers. Finally, a perspective on the future of resin-coated ink jet base paper will be offered.
