Web Wrinkles: Diagnosis and Remedies, 2002 PLACE Conference Proceedings
Web wrinkling is a common source of film waste in handling and winding. The key to reducing wrinkles is to
understand their mechanisms and sources. Wrinkles are visible defects, providing clues to their underlying
mechanism via their location, shape, and direction. This paper will present a summary of wrinkle sources, how to
identify each through visual clues or simple tests, and the common remedies for each.
