Bubble Stability and Maximum Output of SURPASSTM sLLDPE Resin in Blown Film, 2004 PLACE Conference

The improvement in physical property performance of first generation metallocene catalyzed linear lowdensity polyethylene (mLLDPE) over Ziegler-Natta (Z/N) LLDPE is counterbalanced by a decrease in processability: higher extruder pressures, more energy consumption and decreased bubble stability. NOVA Chemicals has developed a new class of single-site catalyzed LLDPE called SURPASSTM (sLLDPE) which overcomes the processability issues encountered with the traditional mLLDPE, while maintaining the enhanced physical property performance.
