A water based primer has been developed which imparts oxygen barrier to film and metallized film substrates. This paper investigates direct and reverse gravure coating techniques for achieving a smooth, level coating on film. Oxygen barrier performance will also be presented. This technology is intended for food, medical and industrial end uses.
