New Dow Easier Processing Enhanced Polyethylene for Extrusion Coating, 2004 PLACE Conference

PressWeb.jpg

LLDPE products for extrusion coating have been around for several years but have had limited utility due to processability disadvantages compared to LDPE. LLDPE’s are needed where improved seal strengths and abuse properties are desirable over conventional LDPE’s. Dow has molecularly engineered an enhanced polyethylene (EPE) resin that has better processability than traditional LLDPE’s and provides significantly improved seal and abuse properties. This paper will compare and contrast the new EPE to other conventional and new-to-market resins relative to the performance requirements for extrusion coating.
