Introduction to Low Pressue Laminates and Foils, 1996 Plastic Laminates Symposium Proceedings

This first part of this paper provides a brief domestic history of low pressure laminate development and describes the basic procedure of making low pressure laminates. Production of low pressure melamine and polyester panels will be discussed, starting with the resins involved, covering the common uses of these two types of products and concluding with the advantages and disadvantages of each system. The second part of this paper will address decorative finish foils. Three types of foils will be explained, basic properties will be covered and common applications will be reviewed.
