In the sector of floor covering, a new trend has emerged, resulting in a significant demand for very dense MDF boards (>800 kg/m 3 ), laminated with virtually abrasion-proof melamine-resin films. Laminating of MDF boards is done by the short-cycle process. The objective of this report is to outline the manufacture of the MDF boards required and the requirements for lamination.
