Creation of the ANSI/NEMA LD3 -1995 Standard, 1996 Plastic Laminates Symposium Proceedings

In December 1995, the latest version of the ANSI/NEMA LD3 “High Pressure Decorative Laminates” standard was released. This was the culmination of 4 years of effort by the members of the Decorative Laminate Advisory Technical Committee for NEMA. This paper summarizes the process that the group used to develop the new standard, including, test method development, round robin testing, repeatability and reproducibility studies, metric conversion, language editing, test safety evaluation, and establishment of performance criteria.
