I would like to open by thanking TAPPI for the opportunity to present information from the Laminating Materials Association during today’s speech. As the Executive Director of the Laminating Materials Association (LMA), I will be discussing the historical trends for decorative overlays as well as providing some predictions on future consumption. I will describe and discuss each of the different overlays used in laminating and discuss some of the underlying economic trends that fuel the growth of this market. In addition, demand for particleboard and MDF will be included in this discussion, since these are the prime substrates for most overlays.
