Dilution Control Technology for Existing Headboxes, 2001 Papermakers Conference Proceedings

Harold Sankey, Marc F. Foulger--The BTF headbox dilution control system, which consists of a central distributor attenuator and a dilution water system, can be retrofitted to any type of existing headbox. These systems have been included in many rebuilds of rectifier roll and hydraulic headboxes for fourdriniers, secondary headboxes, and cylinder machines. Many reference installations are running in Europe, on a wide range of grades. Substantial improvements in CD profile, fiber orientation and formation have been achieved.
