Computer-Aided On-Line Monitoring Techniques for Optimization of Alkaline Papermaking Chemistry, 1991 Papermakers Conference Proceedings
During the last three years Mead Research has used computer-aided on-line monitoring to troubleshoot and optimize wet-end chemistry. This technique has been used to identify correlations between wet-end parameters, machine runnability, and product quality. The system is based on portable data loggers and sensors. The system was developed from the need to quickly and accurately analyze both short and long term process variations while minimizing manpower. Included are application examples obtained during the chemistry optimization of an alkaline paper machine.
