Einlehner Abrasion Testing of Pigments, 1992 Papermakers Conference Proceedings
This paper helps to develop a clearer understanding of Einlehner testing of pigments. Two major pitfalls to avoid during Einlehner testing are identified:
1. Pigment flocculation
2. Chemical Corrosion
Switching from bronze to hastelloy test screens eliminates most of the chemical
corrosion effects. Testing results show that the Einlehner AT-1000 experiment is a reliable means to assess pigments’ effect on paper abrasion properties.
