In many wet end applications, a liquid ring vacuum pump will erode and corrode do to harsh conditions. When erosion and corrosion occur on the inner surface of the rotor vanes and on the sealing area of the cones, the pump loses capacity. The end results is wasted energy, a wetter sheet or felts, and lower production. There are several preventative measures for rotor/cone wear including the use of resistant materials of construction, clean sealing liquid, and inlet separators.
