The abrasion characteristics of common paper fillers were evaluated on the Einlehner Abrasion Tester. Most abrasion testing in the paper industry has been conducted on bronze wire because paper machines had used bronze wires on the Fourdrinier and because the test results have been quantifiable and reproducible. This study considered the abrasion characteristics of paper fillers on bronze wire and polyester fabric.
