My TAPPI Story: Prakash Malla
TAPPISAFE
M. A. Blanco Universidad Complutense A. Hooimeijer TNO Industrial Research J. Tijero Universidad Complutense The aim of this work has been the identification and quantitative characterization of the physico-chemical phenomena that take place in the wet-end of the paper machine. The colloid and hydrodynamic interactions associated with wet-end chemistry of papermaking systems have been studied. The results permit to establish mathematical correlations describing the fluctuation of input parameters (e.g. pH, conductivity, consistency, refining degree, etc.) and variations of output parameters electrophoretic mobility, polymer demand, retention, etc.).
