Mechanical Aspects of Forming and Formation, a Current Review, 1996 Papermakers Conference Proceedings
The mechanical aspects of the forming process and their effect on sheet formation are reviewed with respect to current concepts and practice. The significant factors associated with two wire forming - both top wire and twin wire gap methods - will receive principal attention. Single wire concepts will be included in the top wire discussion. While traditional principals of roll and blade forming will be discussed, special emphasis will be directed to initial jet impingement, roll wrap and forming element radii, and forming blade profiles and spacings.
