Paper Machine Rebuilds for Quality and Protection, 1997 Papermakers Conference Proceedings
Today’s global marketplace means that mills are increasingly looking for improved quality and reduced production costs for all grades of paper and board. Rebuilds offer an effective way for existing paper machines to achieve their goals. New technology and equipment designs, if properly applied, can relieve production bottlenecks and improve product uniformity and performance. This paper will discuss paper machine rebuilds, from the headbox to the winder, and present case histories in the forming, pressing, drying and finishing areas.
